RIP- big 4 consultants. Can this startup, run by three people of Indian origin, change the game? 🤔
1. Operand starts by boldly proclaiming they are a "McKinsey Killer." I love the simple messaging. 😊
2. They provide actual proof: "6-figure P&L improvements for early customers." 📈
3. They focus on a specific industry now. The beauty in their communication is that, despite focusing on one industry, they have cleverly expanded their story and total addressable market (TAM) to a much larger play. 🌐
4. The video addresses potential negatives before you even ask: "Every Operand result is verified by human experts, including ex-MBB consultants, to ensure accurate results," clarifying that AI is not perfect and they acknowledge that. ✅
5. They discuss the future: "The first capability they’ve rolled out is pricing and discount strategy. Operand examines all your business’s data—no matter where it is—to ensure your products are optimally priced and discounts are precisely targeted. They’re also rolling out capabilities like ad spend management and customer engagement." 🔮
I haven't seen the product, but the pitch seems impressive, the TAM is large, and the problem with Big Four consultants real.
Impressive stuff!!
What’s your take on the product and the pitch?
I don’t think they consulting is the only one.Two other job roles which could be disrupted by AI in the future:
VC: As I mentioned in my predictions presentation that’s bound to steadily start happening. I was wrong again! ,it already is.
CMO: It’s crazy to me that startups and growth stage, or even late stage organizations are still hiring full-fledged teams. The modern CMO needs to restructure the marketing team with a combination of AI & human intervention. As a CMO:
Why do you have a separate influencer marketing specialist, use a tool like Kolsquare.
Why are you thinking of content as- social, CRM etc? It’s customer and connecting, engaging with them. With good AI tools once the core copy is made adapting is simple BUT the person who writes content at social has to have a different perspective than those who make videos.
Why are you spending so much money $$$$ to build a marketing team in 2025 ?Pay them well, use AI (a lot) and have a leaner team.
